Yesterday we lost a member of our family, our sweet pup, Bow. He has been with us for over a decade, and it was a sudden loss. And it's been a tough 24 hours. But with this sadness, comes the reminder to not take things for granted, and while I can feel sad, and maybe even lost, I can also feel joy in the people and pets we still have in our lives, in my life.
I look at my life, in pieces and as a whole, and I often let things pass by without realizing the depth of them. The meaning of them. But each moment means something. Even if it just means another chance to take a breath on this earth. This beautiful earth. Really, so many things to just sit back and think for a moment. We take for granted the "good mornings" we receive each day, the first breath of fresh air we inhale as we step foot outside, the warm hugs of our loved ones, and the pure joy that can we can take in, even on days of solace.
Sometimes it feels strange and almost not right to want to see good in even terrible situations. But we have to, I feel. Our day goes on, and while we can be easy on ourselves in this time of loss, we have to be able to keep going. And for me, that needs to include gratitude and joy, even if it is small.
I also teach self care, the importance and necessity of it. So, with that, today I will dedicate some time to myself. To grieve, but also to try to renew myself, so tomorrow can be the best it can be, even in these circumstances. I challenge you to also take a few moments today in self care. Do something to take care of yourself, renew yourself, get to your roots, and just enjoy the moments for what they are.
Rest easy, sweet boy. You will be missed.
Until next time,
So, I had my tax appointment last week, finally. I prefer to get it done and over with in January, or early February at the latest, but they automatically schedule, so I had to wait. No biggie, but boy what a relief and weight lifted off of my shoulders. I bookkeep and keep things organized throughout the year. But there are always some odds and ends you have to grab before an appt and paperwork to fill out ofcourse. Yay tax season.
With that said and done, and feeling that huge relief off of me, I got to thinking. In life, there are always things we put off or wait to do. Maybe until the last minute, maybe not. But when we finally take time to complete them, we feel so much better. Why don't we do that more often, or take the time to do it earlier?
Not sure on the psychology behind that. But, if there is something on your to-do list that you keep putting off, whether big or small, easy or it feels impossible, just do it. Take the time, set it aside, and get er done. It will probably take less time than you are imagining.
And then after, take a hot bath, put your favorite oils in your diffuser, sip on your favorite red, read that book, relax. Enjoy lighter shoulders. You deserve it.
A little thought process I had this morning. Can you relate?
Until next time,

This post will be short and sweet, as I just wanted to do more of a welcome post. But I would like to cover a little bit of a topic everyone is talking about right now. New Years Resolutions. Those words may seem daunting to some, but to me, they are exciting. I, personally, don't set resolutions. It is like the word resolutions means failure. No one seems to keep them. So, rather, I set goals. Goals for today, for this week, this month, this year, and goals for life. Goals are ever-changing with us, and are always there to work towards, whether it is todays to-do list or something that is on your 5 year list. I challenge you to set goals for yourself, instead of resolutions. And maybe its just a change of a word in our view on it, but that is ok. Whatever works, right?
On that note, this will be our best year yet, I have a lot of faith in that. It will be amazing! For many reasons. What will make this your best year yet?
Till next time,
